GO-ILLA Productions — Hudson County, New Jersey Underground Hip Hop

GO-ILLA Productions, LLC is an independent underground hip hop collective founded in Hudson County, New Jersey, in 2004. Created by a group of longtime friends with a shared passion for hip hop, GO-ILLA brought together rappers, music producers, DJs, graphic designers, and multimedia artists with the goal of building something of their own and bringing authentic New Jersey hip hop to a wider audience.

The GO-ILLA Productions family includes Vic Shadez, J Pleezz, Chief, Eddie Dos, Sosick, Solution, Bwyze, A.F. Sin, A.F. Netic, Reny, DJ Big Dee, and Cliffhanger. More than simply a collection of individual artists, GO-ILLA developed as a tight-knit hip hop family built around collaboration, loyalty, creativity, and a shared dedication to the culture.

Coming out of Hudson County and the North Jersey hip hop scene, GO-ILLA's music draws inspiration from multiple genres while remaining heavily influenced by the raw sound, lyricism, production, and competitive spirit of 1990s East Coast hip hop. That combination helped the collective develop its own sound while staying connected to the foundations of underground rap.

In 2006, GO-ILLA Productions took its ambitions beyond New Jersey and New York when members traveled approximately 13 hours to perform at a hip hop showcase in Chicago. Despite making the trip with virtually no sleep, the crew earned recognition for its performance and received production from Kanye West that would become part of the group's growing musical journey.

As GO-ILLA continued building an extensive catalog of independent hip hop music, the collective became increasingly active throughout the New Jersey and New York City underground hip hop scene. The crew performed at numerous venues throughout the region, including the China Club, Remote Lounge, and The Gold Hawk, establishing a reputation through live performances and independent promotion.

Years of recording, performing, producing, and building a following eventually brought GO-ILLA recognition in its home state. In 2009, GO-ILLA Productions received the award for Best Local Independent Hip Hop Artist at the Hoboken Music Awards, marking an important milestone for a collective that began with a group of friends pursuing a shared dream.

At its core, GO-ILLA Productions represents independent New Jersey hip hop—artists and producers creating music on their own terms while carrying forward the lyricism, originality, and uncompromising attitude associated with the golden era of East Coast rap.

From its beginnings in Hudson County, New Jersey, to performances throughout the NYC and New Jersey hip hop scene, GO-ILLA's history is built on friendship, loyalty, independent music, and a dedication to hip hop that has never faded.
